The Naubat Khana, Diwan-i-Am,
Jodha Bai's palace and Bulund Darwaaza are all
remarkable creations which remind us of the cities
and lifestyle which once used to thrive amidst
these red sandstone structures of Fatehpur Sikri.
Tomb of Itimad Ud Daulah : The
tomb of Itimad Ud Daulah built as the mausoleum
of father of Noor Jahan, houses the tomb of Mirza
Ghiyas Beg. Built by his wife this mausoleum is
often referred to as the Baby Taj. Constructed
around 1625 A.D, the tomb was a domed marbled
structure has some exquisite carvings and has
used the Pietra Dura style of artwork.
The beautiful structure has some
beautiful Central Asian work of architecture which
is really interesting.
Agra Fort : Built in red sandstone,
the Agra Fort is the next major draw for tourists
at Agra. The construction of the fort was begun
by Mughal emperor Akbar himself. Later, emperors
Jahangir and Shah Jahan made additions in the
form of palaces and mosques that the fort encloses.
