Bangalore
is the capital city of the southern Indian state
of Karnataka. It is the seventh largest city in
India. It is also known as the Garden City because
of its many beautiful gardens and parks. Though
the origin of Bangalore is ancient, the present-day
city was founded in the 16th century and has since
continued to be an important administrative center.
Because of the high concentration of IT industry,
it also called the Silicon Valley of India.
Bangalore city is located in the southern part
of the state of Karnataka, in the southern region
of India. It is 3,113 feet (949 m) above sea level,
on top of a ridge in the Karnataka plateau. Bangalore
is 998 km from Mumbai (Bombay) and 562 km from
Hyderabad.The climate of Bangalore is moderate
and pleasant. |

The Vidhan Soudha : built in 1954, is
the main attraction of this city. It is a marvel
of modern architecture and is a fine amalgamation
of traditional Dravidian and modern styles.
It houses the State Legislature, and is the largest
Secretariat in India. Kengal Hanumanthaiah, Chief
Minister of the then Mysore State between 1951-1956
was responsible for the concept, the structure
and the setting of this magnificent building.
Cubbon Park : Cubbon Park
serves as the lungs in-addition as a tourist destination.
Spread over 250 acres, the green park has various
attractions such as the rose garden, children's
play ground with toy train and several play equipments,
the recently opened doll museum and an aquarium.
The roads that cut across the lush green land
offers an ideal place for joggers and walkers.
One can find people playing games like badminton,
cricket and soccer at the open lands of the park
and also children enjoying the climb on the natural
rocks. The central garden inside the park has
an open stage where free concerts by amateur/professional
artists occur at times.
Lalbagh : This expanse of greenery
is one of India's most beautiful botanical gardens.
It was laid out by Hyder Ali and Tippu Sultan
in the 18th century, Within the Gardens there
is a beautiful lake with a water spread area of
1.5 Sq.Kms dotted with picturesque tiny islands.
It is a good picnic spot.
Tippu's Fort: Originally built
by Kempe Gowda and later refurbished and expanded
by Tipu Sultan, the fort's design was inspired
by the Windsor Castle. Built in the Tudor style,
the edifice has beautiful carvings and patterns
on its walls. The fort also encloses a 16th century
Ganapathi Temple.

How
to get there
Air :Bangalore is accessible by
air, road, and rail. Bangalore Airport is 13 km
east of the City Station. There are number of daily
flights to important cities like Calcutta, Mumbai,
Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Kochi,
Mangalore, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram. Bangalore
has direct international flights to Muscat, Sharjah
and Singapore.
Rail : There are two railway stations
in Bangalore. The main station is well connected
to all major Indian cities. There are number of
daily express trains from Bangalore to other cities
of India.
Road : Bangalore
has a large bus terminus, which is near the railway
