Mangalore,the district headquarters, has a long history of maritime trade. Though developed as a business and commercial centres Mangalore still retains its old world charm-old tile-roofed buildings amidst coconut groves, fishing boats silhouetted against the darkening skyline, fishermen hauling in rich catch of fish,sea food served in spicy coconut curries. Mangalore is a remainder of the good times of life. The district offers a wide range of interesting places for both pilgrimage and pleasure tourists such as Dharmasthala, Subramanya, Kollur, Udupi, Karkala, Venoor and Moodabidri.Mangalore district is a panorama of palm-fringed beaches,lush green fields and enchanting forests. Gateway of India :
You trip to Mumbai is incomplete without giving a visit to the statue of liberty of India - The Gateway of India. Gateway of India is a historical gateway built in British style.

Mahalaxmi Temple : One of the famous temples of Mumbai, Mahalaxmi temple is devoted to The Goddess of wealth Mahalaxmi. Idols of Hindu Goddesses Mahalaxmi, Mahasaraswati and Mahakali are also situated in the temple.

Chowpatty : The famous beach of India holds a special attraction for both the tourists and local people. The attraction of chowpatty enhances many folds during Maharashtar's most famous festival of Ganesh chatturathi. Chowpatty has done wonders to Mumbai Tourism.

Prince of Wales Museum : Prince of Wales Museum of Western India, Bombay The Prince of Wales Museum was established to commemorate the Crown Prince's visit to Bombay in 1905. The future George V laid the foundation stone and work began on the building which was designed and built to represent the ancient and medieval architectural styles of western India.
 
                 
         
   
How to get there

Air : Mumbai has more flights connecting it than even the national capital New Delhi. All major airlines fly to and from Mumbai to most of the important cities of the world.

Rail : Central Railways runs services to the east and north, the Western Railways also runs trains to North India from Churchgate and Central stations.

Road : If you would like to travel by bus within India, most long distance buses leave from the State Transport Terminal located opposite Mumbai's Central Railway Station.
